The Quik-Latch QL38LPBP is a low-profile hood pin kit designed as an upgrade for those who prefer a cleaner aesthetic over traditional hood pins. It offers a premium, understated look that complements performance builds or an OEM plus style, avoiding the "sore thumb" appearance of older designs. Unlike standard hood pins that can rust or have lanyards that scratch paint, these Quik-Latch units are built from T6 aluminum and feature a lifetime warranty against corrosion, providing both form and function. Each latch mechanism is constructed from 6061 T6 Aluminum and 303 Stainless Steel, boasting a holding force of 500 lbs per latch. The kit includes two latch mechanisms, two retaining rings, two 3/8" x 24 mounting pins, and all necessary hardware such as nuts, washers, and set screws. The low-profile design features a 1.75-inch diameter for the upper latch mechanism and a simple push-button activation for unlatching, with the button remaining down until re-latched and then popping back up. Installation is straightforward with basic tools. It is important to note that professional installation is required for this kit. Furthermore, all vehicles utilizing Quik-Latch systems must retain the factory or an equivalent safety catch. Failure to do so may result in the hood coming up while driving. Always ensure the button is flush with the body to confirm the latch is engaged before driving.
