The Improved Racing EGM-112 is a low-profile oil cooler adapter designed to integrate an oil cooler into GM LS engines featuring rear sump oil pans. This adapter directly replaces the factory oil bypass cover, providing the necessary ports for an external oil cooler setup. Constructed from billet aluminum with a black anodized finish, the EGM-112 features a built-in thermostat that regulates oil flow to the cooler. The thermostat remains closed, bypassing the cooler, until the engine oil reaches 180°F. This design ensures that the engine oil reaches its optimal operating temperature efficiently before engaging the oil cooler. The adapter uses AN O-ring ports for a secure seal. Improved Racing specifies that their fittings must be used for proper thermostat operation, fitment, and sealing. Recommended fittings include 60°, 90°, or 120° options for the OUT port and a 90° fitting for the IN port, depending on the specific engine bay configuration. For Corvette motor mounts, a 90-degree AN fitting is recommended for both the top and angled front ports.
