Description

For models with SAE push-on type pins in cap (not machine thread). 1 per car. PERMANENT NLA. The distributor cap distributes high voltage from the ignition distributor to the spark plugs via spark plug wires. It also protects internal distributor components. Wear on contacts and plastic deterioration from engine heat necessitate regular replacement (typically 30,000 to 60,000 miles), often concurrently with spark plugs, rotor, and wires. Replacement is generally simple, involving removing spark plug wires and unclipping/unscrewing the old cap.
