The MAP Lower Intercooler Pipe is meticulously hand-fabricated in-house by skilled professionals using 304SS USA-Made stainless steel tubing. Each pipe is 2.5" in diameter, mandrel-bent, and fully TIG welded with back-purge for maximum durability and performance. It comes equipped with Squirrelly Performance Stainless T-bolt clamps and 4-ply Squirrelly Performance silicone couplers for a secure and leak-free installation. This upgrade is designed to replace the factory intercooler pipe on 2008-2015 Mitsubishi Evo X GSR and MR models, supporting both USDM and JDM variants. The one-piece design eliminates unnecessary couplers, promoting a smoother airflow path from the intercooler to the throttle body. Installation is straightforward and typically requires less than two hours, with no permanent modifications needed. A crucial detail for compatibility is that this pipe is intended for use with intercoolers featuring straight end tank outlets, and will not work with OEM-style angled end-tanks. While it utilizes the factory Blow-Off Valve (BOV) connection, some users have reported needing to adapt the OEM BOV plumbing due to differences in port size or desired routing, potentially involving relocating the BOV and modifying factory hoses.
