Overview

The Powerflex PFF5-220 is a lower torque mount bracket and bushing designed to replace the softer, voided OE mount that can crack and allow excessive engine movement and wheel hop. This part is 300% stiffer than the worn OE mount and is recommended for fast road use in standard or mildly tuned cars. It combines a CNC machined aluminum lower torque mount with various durometer bushing options to reduce engine movement, improve on/off throttle handling, and enhance gear shifting precision.

The Powerflex PFF5-220 Lower Torque Mount Bracket & Bushing is engineered as a direct replacement for the factory-installed mount, which is prone to cracking and allowing excessive engine movement, leading to wheel hop. This performance upgrade offers a significant increase in stiffness—300% stiffer than the worn OE mount—making it ideal for fast road use on standard or mildly tuned vehicles. Constructed with a CNC machined aluminum lower torque mount and available with various durometer bushing options (Yellow 70A and Purple 80A), this component effectively reduces unwanted engine movement. This results in more balanced on/off throttle handling and improved gear shifting precision. While the PFF5-220 provides enhanced handling and responsiveness, users should anticipate a slight increase in Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), particularly at idle. This NVH increase is a direct result of the stiffer material used to connect the engine/transmission to the chassis, with harder materials transmitting more vibration. This part replaces OE brackets with part numbers 22116783094, 22114052474, and 22116772040. This Powerflex PFF5-220 Lower Torque Mount is designed to fit the MINI Clubman Gen 1 R55 (2007-2014), MINI Cooper Gen 2 R56 / R57 (2006-2013), MINI Cooper R58 Coupe (2011-2015), and MINI Cooper R59 Roadster (2012-2015).
