Lowering Springs

Developed through experience on the MQB platform, including testing on an in-house S3 and MK7 GTI, these springs are designed to be a direct replacement for stock units and are optimized to work with factory dampers. Utilizing a linear design similar to OEM, these springs feature unique spring rates carefully matched to the factory dampers. This ensures a ride quality that is slightly stiffer than stock, yet predictable and comfortable for daily driving. The springs are constructed from high tensile chrome silicon wire (SAE 9254/DIN 54SiCr6), which allows for a lighter spring that can sustain repeated deflection without deformation. Each spring set is 100% made in the USA, shot peened, pre-set, and 100% tested for critical dimensions and rate/loads. They are finished with a stealth black powder coating for an OEM appearance. The springs provide a front and rear lowering of 1.2 inches for the GTI and 1.6 inches for the Golf 1.8T. They are compatible with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) systems, maintaining the distinct ride characteristics between different modes. The design is intended to avoid premature wear on factory shocks and struts, as the spring heights stay within the factory components' travel range. No additional items are needed for installation, though a rear sway bar upgrade is recommended for improved handling performance. The manufacturer advises against trimming bump stops on the GTI, as it already features shorter units. These lowering springs fit a range of VW Golf and GTI models from 2015 to 2025+, including the Mk7, Mk7.5, and specific GLI variants.
