LS Head Stud Kit

The ARP LS Head Stud Kit (Part Number 234-4317) is engineered for enhanced durability and reliability in mid-2004 and newer LS engines. It replaces the stock head bolts with high-strength studs, providing superior clamping force and resistance to thermal cycling. Constructed from premium 8740 chromoly steel, these studs undergo a heat-treatment process to achieve a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. Crucially, the threads are rolled after heat treatment, significantly increasing fatigue resistance compared to studs threaded before this process. This meticulous fitment is essential for optimal sealing and engine performance. The kit is specified for all 2004 and newer LS engines, including common variants like the LS1 and LS6. Note that GM utilized different head bolt configurations in earlier versus later LS engines; this kit is specifically designed for the 2004-2013 style bolt pattern (QTY 10 100mm bolts, and QTY 5 45mm bolts), distinguishing it from the 1997-2003 pattern.
