This kit replaces the OEM needle bearings in stock LS rocker arms with fully captive bearings that cannot separate. It also allows for 360-degree rotation and eliminates the travel stops found in the original rocker design, which can cause issues with higher lift camshafts.

The Comp Cams LS Rocker Arm Trunnion Kit (13702-KIT) is engineered to address common failure points in OEM LS rocker arms, specifically the tendency for needle bearings to disperse throughout the engine. Beyond simply improving bearing retention, this trunnion upgrade kit offers enhanced functionality. It allows for a full 360 degrees of rotation, providing more consistent valve train operation. Crucially, it eliminates the travel stops present in the original OE rocker arm design. These stops can create problems, particularly when using higher lift camshafts, by limiting the rocker arm's movement. By removing them, this kit ensures compatibility and optimal performance with a wider range of camshaft profiles. Installation typically requires a press and snap ring pliers, and some resources suggest it can be done without a hydraulic press using a large C-clamp and appropriate sockets.
