It features a 228/240 duration with .646"/.637" lift and a 112 LSA, built on a 5150 steel core with a 3-bolt timing gear pattern. This camshaft is tailored for street/strip use and is recommended for applications with a 3000+ RPM torque converter.

The GPI LS SS2 Camshaft is engineered for street/strip enthusiasts seeking increased top-end power without sacrificing drivability. Designed for LS3, LS2, and LS1 engines, it offers approximately 10-15 more horsepower compared to the SS1, with a powerband extending to 6700 RPM. This camshaft is tailored for setups using a 3000+ RPM torque converter, with a 3200+ RPM converter strongly recommended for optimal performance. It also pairs well with upgraded rear-end gear ratios. This high-lift, 3-bolt LS camshaft requires specific supporting modifications for safe and reliable operation. These include dual .660" valve springs, hardened pushrods, and a 3-bolt cam conversion for engines originally equipped with a single-bolt cam. The SS2 is ideal for naturally aspirated applications but also translates well to centrifugal supercharger setups due to its linear power curve. The SS2 is part of GPI's SS-Series lineup, offering four progressively aggressive profiles. It sits between the SS1 and more aggressive race cams, hitting a sweet spot for enthusiasts seeking enhanced top-end power for aggressive street builds and weekend racing. It has also proven effective in dominating racetracks, with customer builds achieving deep into the 10-second zone.
