Trans-Dapt Performance Products has been manufacturing products to assist gearheads install an LS engine into a wide variety of classic GM cars and trucks since 2001, when they released universal-use engine adapter plates. Since this early start in the LS engine swap market, Trans-Dapt has dramatically expanded its LS engine swap product line to include precise fitting, application specific engine and transmission mounting components.

This steel transmission crossmember kit has a 3-piece design, with a center segment that can be unbolted for quicker removal of the transmission. The crossmember is made in the USA, and is configured to aid in the installation of a T56, TH400, 4L60, 65, 70 or 4L80E transmission with an LS engine in 1978-81 GM A-Body, or 1982-88 GM G-Body cars that have the driver side frame rail extension for THM200-R4 transmissions. For vehicles that DO NOT have the factory THM200R4 extensions, the use of Trans-Dapt # 6423 frame rail adapter is required (sold separately).

Unlike many of the kits on market that require you purchase separate adapters to accommodate the different transmission types, this kit includes adapters for any of the transmissions it is designed to fit. While this crossmember may work "ok" with other manufacturer's engine mounts, we recommend this crossmember be used with Trans-Dapt's LS into A/G-Body engine mounts, and Hedman Hedders' 1978-88 GM A/G-Body LS Engine Swap Headers.
