Ditch your original Nissan RB alternator, which is over 25 years old and offers limited output (35-90 amps), for a more reliable and powerful GM LS1-style alternator. This Platinum Racing Products (PRP) LS1 Alternator Conversion Kit facilitates this upgrade, providing a 140-amp output suitable for modern performance vehicles with increased electrical demands from aftermarket ECUs, fuel pumps, ignition systems, and more. The kit includes a custom-made PRP Billet Alternator Bracket, all necessary adjusting hardware, and a 20% under-driven alternator pulley specifically designed for RB 4-rib belts. This conversion kit is applicable to all twin and single cam RB engines. However, it is important to note that these kits do **not** fit the RB30 SOHC engine found in the Nissan Patrol with the factory carburettor engines. The kit is sold without the alternator, but a JAS equivalent of the GM 92058857 is recommended and available separately. PRP also offers a high-RPM performance alternator option for more demanding builds. For those needing drive belts, PRP lists the correct lengths to suit this kit, along with compatible ATI Harmonic Balancers.
