LS376/480 6.2L Long Block Assembly

The Chevrolet Performance LS376/480 is a 6.2L LS3 base crate engine long block assembly, building upon the potent LS3 foundation with the addition of a GM Hot Cam camshaft for enhanced performance. This engine boasts a displacement of 376 cubic inches (6.2L) and is constructed with a cast aluminum block featuring six-bolt, cross-bolted main caps, a nodular iron crankshaft, powdered metal connecting rods, and hypereutectic aluminum pistons. It is equipped with aluminum L92-style cylinder heads with 68cc chambers and a hydraulic roller camshaft. This crate engine assembly produces 495 horsepower and 473 ft-lbs of torque. It requires additional components for installation, including an intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rails, fuel injectors, exhaust manifolds, an accessory drive system, and an EFI controller. The LS3 engine shares the same size and mounting as other LS-Series engines. The included mid-wet sump oil pan is specifically designed for 2010-2015 Camaro SS/ZL1, 2012-2017 Caprice PPV, 2014-2017 Chevy SS, and 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 chassis. Muscle car LS engine swaps will require an oil pan change. Installation requires proper engine break-in procedures. It is recommended to use engine oil that meets dexos1 specifications, with Mobil 1 15W-50 suitable for track events. The break-in process involves initial priming, running to operating temperature, varying loads for the first 30 miles without wide-open throttle, followed by several medium and hard throttle accelerations. After 500 miles or 12-15 engine hours, an oil and filter change is recommended, along with an inspection for foreign particles.
