LS427/570 7.0L Crate Engine

The Chevrolet Performance LS427/570 crate engine, based on the production LS7, delivers enhanced performance and a simplified installation. This 7.0L (427 cubic inch) V-8 powerplant is engineered for power, producing 570 horsepower and 540 lb.-ft. of torque, which represents significant gains over the standard LS7 crate engine. Constructed with a robust cast aluminum block featuring 6-bolt, cross-bolted main caps, this engine utilizes a forged steel crankshaft and forged titanium connecting rods for durability. It is equipped with hypereutectic aluminum pistons, a unique high-lift hydraulic roller camshaft (.591" intake/.590" exhaust lift), and high-rate valve springs. The CNC-ported LS7-style cylinder heads are fitted with 2.2-inch titanium intake valves and sodium-filled exhaust valves, contributing to its impressive performance. The compression ratio is set at 11.0:1. This engine features a wet-sump oiling system, utilizing an F-body wet-sump oil pan and a specific wet-sump oil pump. This design simplifies installation and reduces costs compared to the dry-sump system required by the production LS7. A low-profile LS7 EFI intake manifold with pre-installed fuel rails, injectors, and throttle body is also included. Installation considerations include the need for the LS427 Engine Controller (P/N 19420000), which is sold separately. The engine comes assembled with a 14-inch Camaro Z/28 168-tooth manual transmission flywheel. It is explicitly stated that this engine is not intended for marine applications. Chevrolet Performance recommends using 15W-50 Mobil 1 engine oil.
