The Brian Tooley Racing LS7 Stage 2 V2 Camshaft is a performance camshaft engineered for LS7 naturally aspirated engines. Developed in-house using BTR-designed lobes, this V2 version represents an advancement over previous Stage 2 LS7 camshafts, aiming to deliver increased power and torque throughout the entire RPM range. This camshaft features a 230 degrees intake duration at .050" lift and 25X degrees exhaust duration at .050" lift, with .650"/.650" of valve lift and a 116 LSA. Its design provides a moderate idle characteristic while prioritizing substantial top-end power gains, though this comes with a trade-off in low-end torque. The lobes have undergone Spintron and engine dyno testing to ensure a potent power curve while adhering to strict valvetrain stability and durability standards. Installation of this camshaft requires specific supporting components for optimal performance and reliability. It necessitates the use of BTR's .660" Lift Platinum spring kit with titanium retainers and hardened pushrods. Due to the unique pivot length and scroll of LS7 rocker arms, up to .660" lift can be safely utilized without causing valve tip damage. A maximum open spring pressure of 430 lbs is recommended. For further enhancement and reliability, the use of titanium intake valves is also advised when installing this camshaft. Specifications include an intake lobe lift at TDC of 0.04900, a hydraulic roller camshaft style, and a three-bolt cam bolt style.
