LSJ Stage 2 Turbo Camshafts

The ZZP LSJ Stage 2 Turbo Cams are aftermarket camshafts engineered to improve performance in turbocharged LSJ engines. These cams offer a 212/212 duration at .050" lift with .419 lift, and a .006" duration of 256/256, with intake and exhaust centerlines at 109 and 115 degrees, respectively. ZZP has found good results with these cams for fairly modified street cars. For optimal performance and reliability, it is essential to replace your valve springs and retainers; ZZP recommends their 82# valve springs and retainers. Additionally, while not strictly required, replacing or removing the stock balance shafts with ZZP's neutral balance shafts or balance shaft delete kit is highly recommended. The stock camshaft bolts are torque-to-yield and must be replaced with upgraded, non-TTY bolts, which ZZP offers. These turbo-specific cams are distinct from the supercharged variants offered by ZZP. While the supercharged Stage 2 cams aim to raise the powerband by 700-1000rpm and require an ATI balancer for high RPMs, the Stage 2 Turbo cams are tailored for turbocharged setups. ZZP emphasizes that their cams are cut with the correct keyway location, eliminating the need for adjustable cam gears for proper timing, unlike some competitors. Correct cam timing for Ecotec engines involves setting cylinder 1 and 4 at TDC, ensuring specific valve stroke completion for accurate lobe lobe placement. GM Performance cams were also available but found to not perform well on LSJ applications.
