The GM Performance Parts LSX454 is a crate engine designed for high-performance applications. It features an LSX-Series Gen IV Small-Block V-8 engine type with a 454 cubic inch (7.4L) displacement.

The engine block is constructed from LSX cast iron and includes 6-bolt, cross-bolted main caps. It is internally balanced and has a bore x stroke of 4.185 in. x 4.125 in. (106.3 x 104.8 mm).

The GM Performance Parts LSX454 is a powerful crate engine built around the robust LSX-Series Gen IV Small-Block V-8 architecture. This engine delivers substantial performance with its 454 cubic inch (7.4L) displacement, making it suitable for enthusiasts seeking significant power upgrades. Constructed with an LSX cast iron block featuring 6-bolt, cross-bolted main caps, this engine is engineered for durability and extreme combinations. Its internal balancing ensures smooth operation, while the bore and stroke measure 4.185 inches by 4.125 inches (106.3 x 104.8 mm) respectively. The camshaft specifications include .648 inches of valve lift on both intake and exhaust, with a duration of 236° on the intake and 246° on the exhaust at .050 inches of lift. This LSX454 crate engine is recommended to run on premium pump fuel and produces an impressive 627 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 586 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,100 rpm. The LSX block itself is known for its stability, allowing for builds that can range from 364 to over 500 cubic inches, with variants like the 454 cubic inch typically suited for naturally aspirated applications. It is noted that this engine is lighter and more compact than an original Big-Block 454 while delivering comparable output.
