LT1 6.2L Crate Engine

The Chevrolet Performance LT1 6.2L crate engine represents the next generation of Small-Block power, first introduced in the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray. This engine offers your project vehicle a high-tech transplant with an outstanding balance of performance and efficiency. While architecturally similar to the LS family, the LT1 features a unique block casting, cylinder head design, and oiling system. This Gen-V Small-Block V-8 is rated at 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. It combines advanced technologies such as Direct Injection and continuously Variable Valve Timing to optimize its combustion system. The engine is constructed with a cast aluminum block featuring 6-bolt nodular iron main bearing caps, a forged steel crankshaft, and eutectic pistons. The cylinder heads are aluminum with a rectangular port design. The LT1 is available with a wet-sump oiling system and is internally balanced. This assembly does not include electronics, and requires the LT1 Controller Kit (P/N 19368831) for operation, which includes an electronic throttle pedal. A Front-End Accessory Drive Kit (P/N 19329990) can be ordered separately. The engine is shipped with a high-pressure Direct-Injection fuel pump and a 14-inch flexplate. Note that Chevrolet Performance Parts Control Kits do not utilize the AFM components on this crate engine.
