M133 Anti Surge Valve

The Weistec Engineering M133 Anti Surge Valve is engineered to protect the turbocharger system of high-performance turbocharged engines, specifically addressing a known shortcoming in the M133 engine family. The absence of a dedicated bypass valve in the stock M133 engine can lead to compressor surge and accelerated turbo damage, especially when vehicle performance is enhanced. This Anti-Surge Valve (ASV) acts as a pressure release system, venting compressed air to the atmosphere instead of allowing it to backflow into the compressor housing. This continuous backflow can be detrimental to critical turbocharger components by slowing the impeller wheel, necessitating a respool and thus delaying throttle response. The Weistec ASV mitigates this issue, prolonging the lifespan of the turbocharger and improving throttle response through sharper spool-up times. Additionally, the system produces the distinctive “blow-off” sound, a desirable characteristic for many enthusiasts. For later models that feature an electronic bypass valve from Mercedes, this valve simply needs to be removed and relocated while remaining plugged in; the Weistec ASV will then function perfectly as designed.
