M142 ECU

The Motec M142 ECU represents a significant advancement in engine control, moving beyond the limitations of single firmware-to-ECU configurations. It utilizes a latest-generation high-performance processor and is housed in a compact, lightweight, yet robust magnesium enclosure. This ECU is suitable for modern engines featuring Drive-by-Wire (DBW) throttle control, variable cam control, and multiple CAN bus systems. It offers extensive input and output capabilities, including 17 analogue voltage inputs, 4 knock inputs, 2 narrow band lambda inputs, and a variety of digital and half-bridge outputs, all with PWM capability. The M142 is particularly adept at controlling modern high-pressure diesel and direct injection systems without requiring additional external amplifiers, featuring 8 direct injector outputs and 6 low-side outputs. Functionality is dictated by the purchased firmware package, with options for targeted solutions tailored to specific vehicles or engines, General Purpose (GP) solutions for gasoline engines (including direct injection variants), or development solutions for custom firmware creation. MoTeC's M1 series also incorporates advanced security features, including an anti-tampering microprocessor and password-protected access levels for different users, ensuring intellectual property protection and controlled tuning access. Logging capabilities can be upgraded from the standard Level 1 to Level 2 (200 channels, 200Hz) or Level 3 (2000 channels, 1000Hz), with an option for Pro Analysis software. The M142 ECU is intended for closed-course competition vehicles only and does not meet federal emissions requirements.
