The Mountune mTune SMARTflash m235 upgrade is a performance engine calibration kit for the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine found in the Mk8 and Mk8.5 Fiesta ST. By utilizing an ECUtek-powered app and a provided Bluetooth OBD interface, owners can perform a simple DIY installation to boost engine output to 235PS and 350Nm of torque. The kit includes four distinct calibrations: a performance map, an ASMO performance map for enhanced exhaust acoustics, a stock performance map, and an anti-theft mode. Designed with a focus on engine robustness, this upgrade has undergone extensive in-cylinder pressure monitoring to ensure safety parameters are maintained. Beyond simple power increases, the system offers advanced functionality, including configurable OBD gauge displays, comprehensive data-logging, and an integrated performance meter. The software also optimizes no-lift shift functionality and launch control strategies for improved driving dynamics. To ensure peak performance and maintain reliability, this calibration must be used in conjunction with an induction kit or carbon induction kit. Failure to use the required hardware may lead to abnormal running, detrimental fuel consumption, warning light illumination, or potential engine damage. Peak figures are achieved using 97RON+ fuel, though the calibration remains compatible with 95RON fuel for everyday use.
