M2C Gen 2 Equal Length Mid Pipe

The Active Autowerke M2C Gen 2 Equal Length Mid Pipe is engineered to transform the exhaust note of the F87 M2 Competition and M2 CS by equalizing the lengths of the exhaust pipes before they merge. The S55 engine's twin-turbo setup often creates uneven exhaust pulses due to differing downpipe lengths, leading to a sound described as "weed eater" or "two independent inline 3s competing for noise." This patented solution utilizes a crossover with sinusoidal pipes to correct the downpipe length variance, producing the expected, deep, throaty sound of a six-cylinder sports car. This mid-pipe is designed for an exact fit on the F87 M2C and M2CS. Key features include being lighter than the factory system, promoting quicker turbo spool, and increasing low-end and mid-range power. The equal length design effectively eliminates the pulsing sound caused by unequal downpipes. Active Autowerke offers this mid-pipe in two configurations: resonated and non-resonated. The resonated version includes specially developed resonators that minimize rasp and "2k buzzing" with minimal impact on sound volume. It is strongly recommended for cars with catless (straight-through) downpipes and also for those with stock downpipes or MPE or CS exhausts to further refine the sound. The manufacturer explicitly states they do not guarantee results or fitment with other makes of rear exhausts. Installation requires separating the stock mid-pipe from the rear pan and making a cut after the center support. Customers are required to sign and return an "Off Road Use Only Waiver" before shipment.
