Description

The Melling M360 oil pump serves as a direct replacement for Ford's 4.6L and 5.4L 3V and GT500 engines, especially since the Ford Racing M-6600-F46 is discontinued. Melling claims a 20% increase in flow over the stock pump. While the M360 does not feature a billet steel backing plate like the M-600-F46, it utilizes a cast iron backing plate designed to eliminate flex that could lead to oil loss. This makes it a preferred OEM replacement for 3V and GT500 engines. The Melling M360 is also compatible with performance-oriented 4.6L, 5.4L 2V, and 4V applications. It uses a standard 3V / 4V 15/16" pickup tube diameter and will not work with the OEM 2V 13/16" pickup tube. Note that the Boundary Billet Oil Pump Gear may not fit due to a lack of necessary chamfer on the gear, causing a known fitment issue with the M360.
