The HKS M45iL spark plugs are high-performance Iridium plugs engineered to support advanced tuning levels, offering improved ignition performance, increased durability, and resistance to carbon buildup. Specifically designed for 3.3t platforms like the Kia Stinger and Genesis G70, these plugs are a direct fit for these vehicles. These spark plugs feature a 0.6mm Iridium alloy center electrode, which requires less voltage to ignite and boosts both ignition performance and durability. The outer electrode is equipped with a square platinum chip, further enhancing longevity and ignition capabilities. A short-type outer electrode design reduces weight and improves resistance to vibration, contributing to a longer service life. To combat issues like carbon buildup after prolonged idling or varied combustion conditions, the M45iL utilizes a Thermal Edge on the ceramic insulator to help discharge deposits. Additionally, the Spark Support Gap design ensures discharges occur in this space, preventing carbon buildup. While HKS plugs typically offer a lifespan of 20-35k miles, it's recommended to gapped these plugs to 0.022" for maximum performance applications, though they come pre-gapped at 0.028" which is suitable for stock applications.
