M5R1 Manual Transmission

The Zumbrota Drivetrain M5R1 is a remanufactured manual transmission built for 1998-2001 Ford Ranger and 1998-2001 Mazda B2500 models equipped with the 2.5L engine and 2WD. This M5R1 transmission features an all-aluminum construction for reduced weight. It has a shift lever that bolts into the top cover and a 5-inch long shifter stub. Notably, this unit does not come with a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) or a speedometer gear. It is designed with mounts on the tail for a transfer case shifter. Zumbrota Drivetrain emphasizes quality through a rigorous remanufacturing process. This includes three quality inspections: a pre-inspection to check for case cracks and excessive wear, an inspection during the remanufacturing process to ensure all component parts meet OEM specifications, and a final post-build inspection. Internal parts undergo 100% inspection, including gear wear checks, mainshaft straightness tests, and synchronizer testing. All transmissions are dynometer tested to simulate real-life scenarios.
