The Zumbrota Drivetrain M5R1 is a remanufactured manual transmission specifically engineered for Ford 95-04 Ranger models equipped with the 3.0L engine and 4x4 drivetrain. Constructed with an all-aluminum housing, this M5R1 transmission features a shift lever that bolts into the top cover and a 5-inch shifter stub. It is outfitted with a single switch on the top cover, omitting the speedometer and vehicle speed sensor. A key feature for 4x4 applications is the integrated transfer case shifter mounting boss on the tail housing. The unit's identification tag number is F87A-DA, with Hollander numbers 400-03109 and 400-03220. Zumbrota Drivetrain emphasizes quality through a rigorous three-step inspection process during remanufacturing. This includes a pre-inspection to identify case cracks or excessive wear, a second inspection to ensure all component parts meet OEM specifications, and a final post-build inspection to verify adherence to strict standards.
