The PRL Motorsports Air Filter Recharge Oil & Cleaner Kit is essential for maintaining the performance and longevity of your air filter. It creates a positive magnetic charge (ionic bond) with the filter’s stainless steel mesh, which then attracts and traps negatively charged dust particles as small as 5 microns. This innovative approach ensures that dust adheres to the mesh, keeping the cotton element clear for optimal airflow and engine protection. PRL Motorsports recommends inspecting your air filter at every oil change and cleaning it when the screen is no longer visible, or at a maximum of every 30,000 miles. More frequent cleaning may be necessary in dusty or off-road conditions. The recharging process involves pre-cleaning by tapping or blowing off excess dirt, spraying the filter with the cleaner and allowing it to soak for 15 minutes, rinsing with warm water from the clean side to the dirty side, and air-drying naturally (avoiding heat to prevent shrinking). Finally, apply the filter oil at a rate of one spray per two square inches of filter, being careful not to over-oil. This product is not legal for sale or use in California on any emission-controlled motor vehicle. When ordering, please select your desired color of air filter oil.
