The TREMEC Magnum-F 6-speed manual transmission is engineered to be a brand-new, factory-quality replacement for aging T56 transmissions, specifically designed for 1998-2002 LS1-powered Camaros and Firebirds. Key features include a substantial 700 lb-ft torque capacity, making it the strongest 6-speed manual available for constant load. The wide ratio gearset (2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.80, 0.63) provides a deep first gear for strong launches and double overdrive for efficient highway cruising. Internal upgrades over the original T56 include increased gear face width, robust double and triple cone synchronizers for smooth high-RPM shifts, and enhanced main case rigidity. The 4616 chromoly gears and one-piece countershaft are designed for durability under high torque. The Magnum-F's F-body tailcase is precisely positioned with the shifter 29.4 inches from the bellhousing face, matching the factory T56 location for fourth-gen F-bodies. This specific shifter placement also makes it an ideal fit for third-gen F-bodies, LT1-powered fourth-gens, LS-swapped late models, and sport compact applications like A80 Supras and FD RX-7s.
