Mahle Piston Set, 82.5mm Bore

The Integrated Engineering MAH-PVN1 is a set of custom-spec Mahle pistons meticulously engineered for VW and Audi 2.0T TSI high-performance engine builds, specifically for the EA888 Gen 1, 2, and 3 engines from 2008 onwards. These pistons are crafted from Mahle's proprietary 142P low-expansion alloy, offering a blend of 4032 alloy's low-expansion properties and 2618 alloy's strength. Key features include a 22mm wrist pin, crucial for use with IE connecting rods, and availability in either 82.5mm (stock bore) or 83mm (+.5mm overbore) sizes. The compression ratio is optimized to closely match factory specifications, with 9.5:1 CR for Gen 1 & 2 (2008-2014) and 9.3:1 CR for Gen 3 (2015+), designed to prevent knocking in the complex direct injection system. The pistons boast a Grafal anti-friction skirt coating for quiet operation and longevity, along with hard-anodized ring landings to prevent micro-welding and phosphate coating for initial break-in lubrication. The 83mm overbore option increases displacement to 2008cc and allows for precise boring and honing of the block for optimal piston-to-cylinder fit and long-life operation. These pistons require aftermarket connecting rods with a non-tapered 22mm small-end.
