MAHLE(R) piston rings are technically advanced, driven by OE requirements for reduced friction, ring mass, minimized oil consumption, and longer service life. They feature pre-lapped rings for immediate seating, optimized ring materials, coatings, and tension. Compression rings have a barrel-faced contact area for efficient compression and CNC-controlled gap chamfer. Intermediate rings have a reverse twist design for better groove side sealing and taper race machining. The CP-20 oil ring assemblies feature a 20-degree ear angle for optimal side seal against the cylinder wall and a special chemical polish on the oil ring expander for enhanced oil drain back.
