The MAHLE 41870CP.030 is a Plasma-Moly Piston Ring Set designed for 1996-2006 Jeep L6 4.0L engines with a 3.905" bore (+.030" over standard). MAHLE piston rings are engineered to reduce friction and ring mass, minimize engine oil consumption, and provide longer service life, meeting OE requirements. These piston rings are essential components for sealing the combustion chamber, preventing gas leakage into the crankcase and oil entry into the combustion chamber. They are recommended for full engine rebuilds, standard maintenance, or when an engine is burning oil or losing compression. The set includes upper compression rings (UCR) made of cast iron with plasma-moly facing, lower compression rings (LCR) made of cast iron, and oil control rings (OCR) made of stainless steel with chrome facing. The ring widths are 1.5mm, 1.5mm, and 4.0mm for the UCR, LCR, and OCR, respectively, with corresponding axial heights.
