The SPEED PERF6RMANC3 FST-MAINSTUD is a main stud kit engineered in collaboration with ARP for the Ecoboost engine. This kit is crucial for maintaining the stability of the engine's girdle when pushing for higher horsepower and increased RPMs, preventing crankshaft movement. By utilizing these main studs, you can effectively eliminate issues like main cap walk and fretting, and ensure the protection of your engine block's threads. Constructed from 8740 chrome moly steel, these studs are heat-treated in-house to achieve a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. They feature precision J-form threads that are rolled after heat-treatment, resulting in a fastener that is reportedly 2000% stronger than others. Some applications may include provisions for mounting windage trays, featuring specially designed standoff studs with serrated lock nuts for secure positioning and locking. This product is specifically designed for the Ford 2.0L Ecoboost engine.
