The ARP 208-5402 is a main stud kit engineered for specific Honda and Acura B-series engines, including the B16A, B16A2, B16A3, and B16B. This kit replaces OEM main cap bolts with high-strength studs. Constructed from premium 8740 chromoly steel, these studs offer significantly higher torque ratings and superior tensile strength compared to stock fasteners. This enhanced durability is crucial for engines that experience higher operating stresses. The studs feature M12x1.25 pitch threads, with one end having a 1.75 pitch and the other a 1.25 pitch for precise installation. Installation of these ARP main studs requires specific attention. It is noted that an align hone of the mains will be necessary due to the higher torque rating of these bolts, ensuring proper fitment and accurate torque readings. Before installation, it is recommended to clean all threads in the block and chase them if necessary with an ARP Thread Chaser. Inspect all hardware for defects prior to installation. This kit is compatible with B16A, B18A/B, and B20B/Z engines, provided that a modified GSR/ITR or aftermarket main girdle is not used.
