The Integrated Engineering Turbo Outlet Pipe is engineered to replace the restrictive, pinched plastic factory pipe on MK8 Golf R, GTI, and 8Y S3 models. Constructed from mandrel-bent and TIG-welded aluminum with a black powder coat finish, this pipe features a constant diameter design that promotes a smoother, more efficient airflow path directly from the turbocharger. This optimization results in a documented 13.44% increase in flow over the stock component. The pipe's CNC-machined hose ends are designed with a radius edge and grip-lock ribbing, providing a crush-proof and leak-free connection for boost hoses, preventing issues common with bead-rolled ends. Integrated mount points are retained using TIG-welded brackets, ensuring all factory harness, coolant, and mounting clip locations are preserved for a quality, factory-like installation. The installation process is a complete bolt-in replacement and does not require permanent modifications, though it does involve removing the belly pan, plastic mount clips, and radiator fan, with an estimated installation time of around 2 hours. It's important to note that for GTI models, this pipe provides access to the factory-integrated turbo muffler, which can be upgraded with the separately sold IE Turbo Muffler Delete. However, for Golf R and S3 models, the turbo mufflers are integrated into the factory outlet pipe and are not compatible with the IE Turbo Muffler Delete add-on.
