The Amsoil Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid 5W-30 is a premium synthetic lubricant engineered to meet the demanding lubrication requirements of manual transmissions and transaxles that call for non-extreme-pressure (non-EP) fluids. It offers superior protection for gears and bearings across a wide temperature range, performing effectively from -40°F to 300°F. Unlike conventional mineral oils, this synthetic formulation resists the thinning effects of mechanical shear, ensuring stable viscosity for consistent performance. It delivers exceptional film strength and anti-wear protection, which helps to extend the life of transmission components. Additionally, it protects against corrosion and maintains seal flexibility for long-term reliability, while its compatibility with brass synchros ensures smooth gear shifts. This versatile fluid is recommended for numerous manual transmissions and transaxles, including specific New Venture (NV) and Tremec models, and serves as a replacement for MTF-94, Honda Genuine MTF, and Texaco MTX fluids. It is specified for applications requiring GM specifications 9985648, 9986105, 9985535, and Chrysler MS-9224 and MS-9417. However, it is crucial to note that this fluid is not intended for use in engines, hypoid rear axles, or applications with limited-slip or wet-clutch systems.
