The Ford Performance BR3Z-7003-A is a manual transmission assembly specifically intended for the conversion of an S550 MT82 transmission to an S197 MT82 2011-2014 configuration. This kit facilitates the upgrade process for those experiencing issues with their original S197 transmission, such as excessive noise or broken gears. The kit includes a new flange for the S197 setup, with part numbers BR3Z-7089-A for the flange, BR3Z-7F273-A for the dust shield, and BR3Z-7L013-B for the flange bolt. Installation involves removing the S550 clutch line as it is too short for the S197, and discarding the S550 output shaft bushing as it is incompatible with the S197. Specific torque specifications are provided: 148 ft-lbs for the new flange fastened with the previously removed stud bolt, and 133 ft-lbs for the 11-14 flange bolt. When converting from an S550 MT82 to an S197 MT82, the S550 clutch line must be discarded as it is too short for the S197. Additionally, the rubber output shaft bushing from the S550 transmission should be unbolted and discarded as it is not compatible with the S197 setup. The S197 models utilize longer clutch lines.
