The Mitsubishi MR578399 is a genuine OEM Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, also identified by OE numbers MR578399, MD336481, and MD343605. This component is constructed from durable plastic and metal materials and features a 7-pin connector with a 6.5mm mount hole size. As a direct replacement for the original MAF sensor, the MR578399 is crucial for accurately measuring the amount of air entering the engine, which is essential for the vehicle's computer to calculate the correct fuel mixture. This Mass Air Flow Sensor is specifically engineered to fit the 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer, including various Evolution, Evolution MR, and Evolution RS trims with the 2.0L L4 Gas engine. Some sources also indicate fitment for the Mitsubishi Mirage (2002-1998) with 1.5L or 1.8L engines, and potentially the Mitsubishi Lancer 2007-2002 with 2.0L or 2.4L engines, as well as the Dodge Stratus Coupe (2G).
