The CB Performance Maxi 30 is a full-flow oil pump designed for 1200-1600cc VW engines with a 3-rivet camshaft. It features 30mm gears and a black anodized billet cover with a 3/8" outlet.

This pump features a die-cast, blueprinted housing and pressure chamber, with a black anodized billet cover and a 3/8" outlet. The Maxi 30 is designed as a full-flow pump, meaning no plug is needed for return oil flow. It utilizes 30mm gears and has a main drive shaft locked to the pump gear with a keyway to prevent slippage and maintain oil pressure. CB Performance pumps are assembled with tighter tolerances than stock units, leading to increased oil pressure, especially during low-speed operation. Installation of this full-flow oil pump requires the engine case to be drilled and tapped for return oil flow, which necessitates a complete engine teardown. It is recommended to install this type of pump during an engine overhaul to minimize costs and labor. The Maxi 5 series, including this Maxi 30 pump, is suitable for a wide range of VW engines, from uprights to late buses. It fits VW Beetle (1949-1971), Split Bus (1950-1967), Baywindow Bus (1968-1971), Karmann Ghia (1955-1971), Type 3 (1961-1970), Trekker (1968-1971), and Buggy/Baja (1949-1971) models. Gaskets and instructions are included with the pump.
