The steel collar on the key ensures proper alignment, and the computer-generated key designs offer a high level of security with a narrow pattern groove that resists removal tools. Each wheel lock is constructed from fully machined, restricted chemistry steel that is through-hardened for enhanced security. McGard's plating process involves multiple layers of nickel and a layer of microporous chrome for a durable, rust-resistant finish. The bolt stem features a dacromet coating to meet OEM standards.
