For race applications, a heavier steel unit is ideal for helping launch a heavy car with a smaller engine with less torque and horsepower. They are CNC machined from billet alloy steel and have 1045 hardened steel ring gears.

The McLeod Racing 460530 Billet Steel Flywheel is designed for Chevrolet LS engines, specifically fitting Corvette C5 (1997-2004) and C6 (2005-2013, excluding ZR1) models. It features a 168-tooth ring gear, a 6-bolt crankshaft to flywheel pattern, and a 14.096-inch diameter. This SFI 1.1 rated flywheel is internally balanced and accommodates 11-inch or 12-inch clutch discs, making it a robust option for performance applications.
