The TRD Mechanical 2way LSD (Limited Slip Differential) is engineered as a high-response upgrade specifically for the Toyota 86 (ZN6). This performance-oriented differential optimizes cam angles for a direct response to accelerator input, aiming to provide a more connected driving feel without discomfort. This unit effectively detects differences in rotation speed and torque between the left and right wheels during cornering and other driving maneuvers. By limiting the differential function, it ensures that driving force is reliably and consistently transmitted to the road surface, enhancing traction and control. Despite its performance focus, TRD has worked to reduce the occurrence of chattering, making it suitable for street use. Installation of the TRD Mechanical 2way LSD requires separate purchase of genuine Toyota nuts, bolts, and gaskets, as these are considered non-reusable parts and are essential for a proper and safe installation.
