Medium Duty Drag Racing Front Brake Kit

The TBM Medium Duty Drag Racing Front Brake Kit is engineered for the 2005-2014 S197 Ford Mustang chassis, allowing for the reuse of factory hubs. This kit is specifically developed for drag racing, providing a crucial balance between lightweight components and superior stopping power. It is ideal for heavier drag cars and high-demand, high-heat scenarios common in stock/super stock and bracket racing, particularly for vehicles that rely more on braking than a parachute. At the core of this kit are TBM's F3 4-piston drag racing calipers, noted as the strongest available, offering higher clamping force and reduced distortion for better pedal feel and less flex. These calipers feature a unique "no drag" design, retracting pistons approximately .020" when the pedal is released to improve ET and chassis performance while extending pad life. The included Revolution Rotors are constructed from a unique steel alloy, featuring a multi-process manufacturing technique for enhanced durability, flatness, reduced weight, and superior warp resistance compared to single-thickness rotors. Each kit includes F3 4-piston calipers, standard #1 compound track pads, two 11.75" x .500" Revolution Rotors, aluminum rotor hats, aluminum caliper mounting brackets, and a mounting hardware kit. The total kit weight is 23 lbs. It is crucial to use red Loctite on all rotor bolts during installation. Please note that brake lines are not included and must be sourced separately. TBM recommends using their DOT 5.1 Extreme 6 Brake Fluid, with at least four 12 oz bottles needed for a new system. This brake kit is confirmed to fit the 05-14 (S197) Ford Mustang, including models such as the Boss 302, Bullitt, Shelby GT500, Saleen, and Cobra Jet. The product is intended for racing use only and is not street legal.
