Medusa 4-1 Stepped Exhaust Header System

The Evolve LHD 4-1 Stepped Medusa Manifolds are a performance exhaust header system specifically engineered for the BMW E39 M5 S62 V8 engine. These headers address a key restriction point in the factory exhaust, which is known for its poor design. Unlike other aftermarket headers that may compromise torque below 5000rpm, Evolve's 4-1 design aims to enhance the S62's natural low to mid-range torque while also providing significant power gains at higher RPMs. This configuration is credited with enabling a wider power band, leading to improved acceleration across all RPM points. The product is stated to offer a minimum gain of 25 bhp and 25 lb/ft of torque when used alone. When combined with Evolve's software and intake system, the S62 V8 can see a potential increase from 390 bhp / 368 lb/ft to 445 bhp / 400+ lb/ft. The manufacturer notes that the engine will produce a more purposeful note with these headers alone, with only a slight increase in noise levels. For increased exhaust volume, their dedicated exhaust range is recommended. It is crucial to note that these headers MUST be used in conjunction with Evolve Sports Cats or De-cats.
