The Motorcraft MERCON LV is an automatic transmission fluid recommended by Ford Motor Company for use in Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require MERCON LV fluid. It is formulated with high-viscosity index, hydroprocessed base oils and performance additives that deliver excellent shifting characteristics at both high and low temperatures, while also guarding against transmission shudder. It is dyed red to assist with leak detection and is also suitable for use in all transfer cases and power steering systems built after 2012. Note that this product is not compatible with applications requiring MERCON ULV, MERCON V, MERCON SP (with the exception of TorqShift), continuously variable chain-type transmission fluids, Motorcraft Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid, FNR5, or Type F fluids. It is also not for use in power take-off units. Users should always consult their owner's manual and transmission fluid charts to verify application requirements.
