The Tilton 56-358 is a high-performance metallic triple-plate racing clutch kit engineered as a direct replacement for the stock clutch-flywheel assemblies in Mitsubishi Evolution VII, VIII, and IX models equipped with 5-speed transmissions. It retains the original factory diameter, ensuring compatibility with the stock bell housing. This clutch kit features a 7.25-inch, 3-plate metallic race clutch designed for demanding racing applications. The metallic clutch is known for its high torque capacity and reliability, making it suitable for road racing and circle track racing. However, metallic clutches are not recommended for street use due to their engagement characteristics. Included with the clutch package is a hydraulic release bearing (HRB) that mounts within the bell housing, replacing the stock slave cylinder and fork arm release bearing. This HRB facilitates quick shifting, reduces pedal effort, and automatically adjusts for clutch wear, contributing to consistent performance during high-stress situations. The kit also includes a billet steel flywheel with an integral ring gear and related hardware. The Tilton 56-358 has a torque capacity of 500 lb-ft and a weight of 19.1 pounds.
