Methanol Injection System

The AlkyControl AKC-C5-MAPKIT is a specialized methanol injection system engineered for the 1997-2004 C5 Corvette and the 2001-2004 C5 Z06 Corvette. This kit is designed specifically for vehicles equipped with A&A, ECS, or Procharger centrifugal superchargers. The system utilizes a boost-referenced, progressive methanol controller. This advanced controller automatically adjusts the amount of methanol injected, releasing increasing quantities as boost pressure rises. This ensures a smooth and consistent transition of power, maintaining optimal performance all the way to redline. Methanol injection serves multiple critical functions: it acts as a highly effective chemical intercooler, capable of reducing intake air temperatures (IATs) by over 80%, allowing for more aggressive timing and increased horsepower. Additionally, methanol burns at an equivalent octane rating of 110, significantly reducing the risk of detonation when using lower octane fuels. It also contributes to engine cleanliness by helping to remove carbon deposits from pistons. Constructed with premium components, the AKC-C5-MAPKIT includes PAC progressive controller, a modified pump specifically for methanol, pre-assembled stainless braided hoses, and a complete wiring harness with all necessary connectors. It also features a 2 Bar GM MAP sensor with a regulator and comes with installation instructions that include tuning tips. Options are available for dual nozzles, suitable for applications over 800 RWHP, and a GM IAT Sensor Upgrade for enhanced tuning safety. This kit is designed for use with 100% methanol or a water/methanol mix; consult your tuner for the preferred mixture. It is important to note that this kit will not fit other applications without significant modifications and is specifically tailored for the C5 Corvette platform.
