The Hedman 88400 headers are constructed from mild steel with 1-1/2 inch diameter tubes and a shorty design. They feature a unique, gasketless ball and socket collector system, allowing for easier installation and alignment with your vehicle's exhaust system. These specific headers are intended for a range of iconic Ford and Mercury passenger cars manufactured between 1964 and 1977, equipped with 260-302W engines. This includes applications such as the 1964-73 Ford Mustang and Falcon, '66-73 Ranchero & Torino, '69-77 Maverick, '66-70 Fairlane, '67-73 Mercury Cougar, and '70-73 Comet models. It is crucial to note that these Hedman 88400 headers are designed to fit vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions only; they are not compatible with manual transmission vehicles. The headers are shipped with a temporary black paint finish that will burn off during operation. For enhanced durability and appearance, ceramic-metallic silver or black finishes, as well as stainless steel construction, are available in other Hedman series. These headers are considered legal for off-road use only and are not street legal on 1975 and later model years due to emissions regulations. Each set comes complete with header(s), new bolts, gaskets for the cylinder head, reducer pipes, and necessary hardware for installation.
