The Flowtech Shorty Headers offer a direct-fit solution for enhancing the exhaust system of your 1988-1995 Chevy/GMC Truck (1500/2500), 1992-1995 Suburban, or 1992-1994 Blazer/Jimmy equipped with the 5.7L engine and A.I.R. system. These headers are engineered as a direct replacement for factory exhaust manifolds, facilitating a straightforward installation process. Crafted from durable 16-gauge mild steel, these headers feature a 1.5" O.D. primary tubing diameter and 2.50" collector diameter. The extra-thick 3/8” flanges are crucial for ensuring a leak-free seal, preventing exhaust leaks and maintaining optimal performance. The headers come with a black painted finish and include premium gaskets and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation, including bolts and mounting hardware. Additionally, these headers are 50-State legal and carry CARB EO #D-115-16, making them compliant for use in California and other emissions-controlled states. It is important to note that breaking in an engine with ceramic-coated headers can damage the coating and void warranties; Flowtech recommends using cast iron exhaust manifolds or old headers for the initial break-in period. The use of header wraps is also not recommended as it can lead to cracking or rust due to heat and moisture buildup, thus voiding the warranty.
