The CTS Turbo MK5 2.0T Direct Fit FMIC Kit is engineered as a drop-in replacement for the stock front-mounted intercooler (FMIC). This design eliminates the need for any bumper trimming or modifications during installation. The OEM intercooler is sufficient for stock boost levels, but it struggles to manage charged air temperatures effectively once boost is increased via ECU upgrades or chipping. Elevated charged air temperatures can lead to issues like boost cut and timing pull, both of which reduce a vehicle's power output. This direct-fit FMIC utilizes a high-efficiency bar and plate intercooler core, which contributes to a reduced pressure drop. A lower pressure drop means the turbocharger doesn't have to work as hard to achieve a specific boost level. This increased efficiency can extend turbocharger life and results in cooler, denser air leaving the turbo, ultimately producing more power. Features include a core measuring 23.00" Long x 2.00" Tall x 16.5" High, construction with efficient bar and plate design, 4-ply silicone hoses, and billet adapter to the turbo outlet pipe. The cast aluminum end tanks have integrated mounting points, unlike welded designs found on some other intercoolers. This kit is compatible with VW MK5 Golf GTI (2008-2009), VW MK5 Jetta (2009), and VW MK5 Jetta GLI (2008-2010), supporting both FSI and TSI engines.
