MK5 2.0T Front Mount Intercooler Kit

The CTS MK5 2.0T Direct Fit FMIC Kit serves as a direct replacement for the factory front-mounted intercooler (FMIC). Its "drop-in" design eliminates the need for any bumper trimming or modifications during installation. While the stock FMIC is adequate for factory boost pressures, it becomes a bottleneck when boost levels are elevated through ECU tuning, leading to higher charged air temperatures, potential boost cut, and timing pull, all of which diminish the vehicle's power output. A lower pressure drop allows the turbocharger to operate more efficiently, requiring less effort to achieve desired boost levels. This not only extends the turbo's lifespan but also ensures that the air exiting the turbocharger is cooler and denser, ultimately translating to increased power at the wheels. The kit maintains factory mounting points and requires no trimming of the bumper or crash supports. It is rated for power levels exceeding 600HP. The core dimensions are 23.00" Length x 2.00" Tall x 16.5" Height, with cast aluminum end tanks that feature integrated mounting points.
