The ARM MK6 Competition Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) is engineered as a premium cooling solution for MK6 vehicles equipped with larger turbochargers. Featuring a true front-mount design, it is positioned directly behind the lower grille to capture the coolest available airflow, significantly enhancing its efficiency. This intercooler is rated to be effective up to 800HP, thanks to its substantial 793 cubic inch core volume. The construction utilizes a robust bar and plate intercooler core, complemented by ultra-dense internal and external fin packs to maximize cooling performance. The core dimensions are 23.5" x 7.5" x 4.5". The kit includes upgraded intercooler piping for both the hot and cold sides, constructed from 6-layer reinforced silicone capable of withstanding up to 60psi of pressure. Constant-tension T-bolt clamps are used for secure connections that resist loosening over time. Mounting is achieved via two CNC machined brackets secured to the radiator shroud with multiple anchoring points, ensuring stability even under aggressive driving conditions. Installation is noted to be easier than OEM-location intercooler upgrades due to the front-mount placement, as it avoids the need to disassemble the radiator stack. However, some trimming may be required to accommodate the larger Competition core. The kit comes complete with the intercooler, piping, CNC mounting brackets, a mounting hardware kit, and a turbo outlet pipe coupler. The ARM MK6 Competition FMIC is specifically recommended for big turbo builds, with at least a K04 turbo upgrade being the minimum recommended size to avoid excessive turbo lag on stock turbo vehicles.
